"Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength."— Sigmund Freud

Healing is not about fixing what is broken but about rediscovering the parts of ourselves that have been unheard, unseen, or forgotten. Life’s challenges—whether in the form of anxiety, trauma, grief, or relationship struggles—can leave us feeling disconnected from who we truly are. But within each of us is the capacity for healing, resilience, and transformation.

My approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness. I believe that self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-compassion are key to meaningful change. Through our work together, we will explore
patterns that may be holding you back, develop skills to navigate difficult emotions, and build a deeper connection with yourself and others.

I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can bring your full self—your struggles, your strengths, and everything in between. My goal is to help you cultivate self-acceptance, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Let’s take the first step together.

I began my professional education at the University of Western Ontario, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Criminology and Psychology. This degree provided me with a robust foundation in understanding human behavior, the impact of social systems on mental health, and the complexities of psychological processes. It also ignited my passion for exploring the intersection of psychology and criminology, particularly how trauma, societal factors, and systemic influences shape individuals. During this time, my interest deepened as I interned at a forensic psychiatric hospital, where I first encountered the profound effects of trauma and began to appreciate the challenges of supporting individuals within complex systems, including those grappling with sexual behavior and its consequences.

Building on this foundation, I pursued a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Honours at Yorkville University. There, I honed my ability to integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring them to address diverse challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and relationship struggles, including those tied to sexual health and dysfunction. My hands-on training during this program allowed me to apply multiple modalities effectively, preparing me for the nuanced work I do today.
My professional journey has been shaped by a wide range of experiences that inform my work at An Elegant Mind. I have worked as an Addiction and Trauma Counsellor, supporting clients in overcoming challenges like substance abuse, sexual abuse, and childhood trauma, as well as relationship-related conditions such as love addiction, which can sometimes contribute to broader addiction struggles. As a Crisis Counsellor, I provided one-on-one emotional support to individuals in acute distress, while my role supporting federal offenders—including sexual offenders—reintegrating into the community deepened my understanding of rehabilitation, relational dynamics, and the psychological underpinnings of sexual offenses. I’ve also delivered one-on-one support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, worked with new mothers fleeing abusive situations, and conducted qualitative research on female offenders, tracking data for program evaluation at a forensic psychiatric hospital.

These experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective on how trauma, sexuality, and relationships intersect, whether in the context of addiction, family systems, or societal reintegration. I bring specialized insight to supporting individuals with severe sexual conditions—some of which may carry legal or social stigma—drawing from my background in forensic psychology and offender rehabilitation to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space for healing. I particularly enjoy working with clients navigating a complex web of relationships—romantic, familial, or otherwise—where challenges rooted in past trauma or sexual struggles often emerge. My diverse background enables me to offer empathy, insight, and practical strategies in my practice, helping individuals and couples address their most sensitive concerns as they heal and grow.

I am a cisgender woman who values authenticity, connection, and creating inclusive spaces where people feel seen and supported. I was born in Toronto and moved to Vancouver when I was eight years old. For years, I thought I’d return to Ontario after university—but there’s something about BC that kept pulling me back.

Outside of my work as a counsellor, I find joy in movement, nature, and spending time with family and friends (and animals). I grew up playing all kinds of sports, but hockey and competitive dance were the ones I stuck with the longest. These days, I’ve been getting into running, which has been a fun and energizing way to challenge myself. Summer is my favourite season—you’ll usually find me out on the water, boating, water skiing, or wake surfing.

All of these experiences shape how I show up as a counsellor—with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story.
