"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." — Carl Rogers

I believe that early childhood experiences and environment shape our core self-image, worldview, and patterns of relating to others. As we grow, our lived experiences help us develop essential life skills that allow us to navigate relationships, work, emotional challenges, and life transitions.

However, trauma, dysfunctional environments, and unhealthy relationships with key people in our lives can interfere with the development of crucial abilities such as emotional regulation, processing, decision-making, and self-awareness. When these skills are underdeveloped, people may struggle to experience fulfillment, maintain healthy relationships, or respond effectively to life’s challenges.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." — Carl Jung

In therapy, my approach is rooted in understanding how a person’s core emotional and relational patterns shape their current experiences. I guide my clients in identifying and analyzing these patterns while also addressing unresolved traumatic events and the emotions associated with them. Many of these unprocessed experiences serve as barriers to happiness and satisfaction in the present moment. Through this work, we create space for new habits, actions, and coping mechanisms that support meaningful and lasting change.

"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." — Viktor Frankl

My therapeutic framework integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Polyvagal Theory, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). EFT serves as an initial foundation, helping clients recognize, understand, regulate, and transform their emotions. Once emotions are brought into awareness, CBT allows for an analysis of automatic thoughts and behavioral patterns that stem from these emotions. By identifying dysfunctional beliefs and thought loops, clients gain the ability to reframe their experiences and adopt healthier responses.

As therapy progresses, SFT helps shift the focus from understanding problems to taking practical steps toward solutions, ensuring that clients implement real-world changes between sessions. Throughout the therapeutic process, I apply the principles of Polyvagal Theory to support nervous system regulation. By fostering safety, connection, and emotional resilience, clients are better equipped to engage with their healing journey from a place of stability and self-trust.

This holistic, integrative approach allows me to meet each client where they are, helping them gain insight into their internal world while also empowering them with the tools needed to create lasting change. I provide counselling in English, Russian, and Spanish.

I began my professional education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). Alongside this, I participated in a year-long exchange program at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. This experience allowed me to develop strong interpersonal communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and proficiency in English, Spanish, and Korean.

In 2021, after a five-year personal therapy journey, I transitioned into the field of clinical counselling by obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology and Coaching from the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, which is helping me refine my practical counselling skills and deepen my understanding of Canadian norms, regulations, and the diverse, multicultural nature of the profession.

I identify as a Cisgender Slavic woman with a strong connection to and profound lived experience within Mexican society and culture. I have always been a hypersensitive and highly intuitive individual with a big desire for discovery both within and around the world. Originally from Moscow, Russia, I lived in South Korea and Mexico before settling in Vancouver in 2017.

In my personal life, I find joy in my work both as a clinical counsellor and a ceremonialist and owner of Mandala Studio & Creative Space in Yaletown, Vancouver. I find lots of magic in connecting psychology as a science, spiritual practices and rituals, and the power of people coming together as a community. To stay active, I enjoy high-intensity training and hot yoga. To nourish my soul, I try to spend as much time as I can with my partner and friends, sharing conversations and exploring BC together.
