“Change may be frightening, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.” - Irvin Yalom

I believe that many of the struggles that bring people to therapy are not personal failures. Anxiety, repeating patterns, difficult relationships, or the feeling of being “too much” or never quite enough are often the nervous system’s natural responses to experiences that were painful, overwhelming, or never fully processed.

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning I begin from the assumption that your symptoms make sense. Therapy becomes a collaborative process of understanding the story behind them, with compassion and curiosity rather than judgment.

My background in neuroscience shapes the way I work with clients. I help people understand what is happening in their brain and body, as this knowledge can transform shame into self-understanding. From there, I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore unhelpful thinking patterns, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation and distress tolerance, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to gently examine the beliefs formed around painful experiences. I also incorporate somatic and mindfulness-based approaches, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), recognizing that healing happens not only through insight, but through reconnecting with the body and developing a felt sense of safety. I believe deeply that the therapeutic relationship itself is part of what heals. Together, we explore your history and the environments that shaped you so that change can feel intentional, sustainable, and deeply personal.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. This program has trained me in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, clinical ethics, multicultural competency, and the relational skills required to support individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of human experiences.

Before pursuing psychotherapy, I completed my Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia. That foundation shaped the way I understand people. Studying how the brain encodes experience, regulates emotion, and forms attachment patterns gave me a level of clinical curiosity that I carry into every session. It is also where my deep interest in trauma began, long before I had the therapeutic language to go with it.

I grew up between cultures and languages, an experience that continues to shape how I understand identity, belonging, and human connection. Navigating unfamiliar cultural expectations from an early age gave me a deep appreciation for the ways family, community, and personal history influence how we see ourselves and move through the world. This lived experience naturally informs my work as a therapist, allowing me to approach each person with cultural sensitivity, curiosity, and respect for the many layers that make up who we are.

Outside of the therapy room, I am someone who finds joy in learning and reflection. I am endlessly curious about people, the brain, and the processes through which we grow and change. Movement is an important part of how I care for myself, whether through Pilates, strength training, swimming, or long walks that help me reset and reconnect. I am also an avid reader, and books have long been a way for me to understand both myself and others more deeply. I am a sister, daughter, and friend, and these relationships continually remind me of the importance of connection, compassion, and presence. I speak English and Farsi and bring my full self, professionally and personally, into the therapeutic space with every client I meet.
