“Emotions are the music of the dance between people.” – Sue Johnson
To heal is to discover parts of yourself that aren't just one thing or a set order of things on how you should be in this world. With emotions, we can explore the deep-rooted needs and feelings of fear that help us navigate the relationships around us.
I value the liberation of authenticity, and I would like my clients to feel like they are in a safe space above all. My approach is to welcome all the hurt, the pain, the tears, and laughter along the way. I bring in an Emotionally Focused Therapy lens as a way to help you reveal these feelings and many more that you might’ve never gotten to safely express before. I also like to focus on intergenerational trauma to understand how relationally we may interact with others and the patterns that we continue to carry from the pain of our ancestors that also play into parental roles and romantic relationships.
I developed foundations of empathy and understanding interpersonal conflicts through my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Brock University in Ontario. I also learned about multicultural counselling, trauma-informed approaches, and sex therapy. I am currently aiming to acquire more therapeutic and relational skills within couples and family therapy in my Master’s program for Counselling Psychology at Adler University.

I grew up in Ontario, where I lived in many different cities and small towns. I come from a Caribbean background where the culture is very diverse and mixed up. I have immigrant parents; my family is Jamaican-Syrian, and the other side is Trinidadian-Chinese (Hakka Chinese).
When I’m not in the counselling room, I’m still a friendly and warm person who continues to care for others, yet tries to balance the complexities of life and the joy of creativity in this colourful world through creative writing. I’m also learning how to integrate more breathwork and somatic approaches into my routine since I joined the start-up team of Adler’s Breathwork and Somatics Student Association on campus.
Personally, I can be quite animated and quirky, so if you find yourself being called “weird,” I welcome all of that energy here! I hope to start learning how to play the piano one day and become musically inclined, but for now I remain off-key. I also like to take pictures of fancy-looking drinks, make smoothie bowls, and watch cooking competition shows...because I’m still human at the end of the day.
