“If you’re willing to pay attention to and dialogue with what’s happening inside of you, you’ll find that your body already knows the answers about how to live a full, present, connected, and healthy life.”

― Hillary L. McBride, The Wisdom of Your Body: Finding Healing, Wholeness, and Connection through Embodied Living

I firmly believe that genuine healing commences when we are truly seen and accepted for our authentic selves. It is within the realms of sincere connection, vulnerability, and empathy that a nurturing environment for self-exploration occurs.

From my therapeutic stance, healing is fundamentally relational; it thrives on the connections we establish both internally and with others. Embracing growth and transformation necessitates a compassionate and resilient bond with ourselves. Within the therapeutic alliance formed between my clients and me, individuals are invited to delve into their experiences within a collaborative, empathetic, and safe space.

Crucially, the journey of healing is nonlinear. It is a lifelong process demanding dedication and adaptation as our needs evolve. I empower my clients to embrace their unique paths, even if diverging from societal norms. I honour the rich tapestry of cultural backgrounds and viewpoints my clients bring, acknowledging the inherent wisdom and resilience embedded within their heritage.

Ultimately, I view the healing journey as a profound act of courage. It requires profound self-empathy and vulnerability to dismantle old patterns hindering authenticity. While confronting our shadow may entail discomfort, it also heralds the emergence of resilience and joy. Together, we navigate the obstacles and celebrate the triumphs, embarking on a transformative process toward wholeness and genuine self-expression.

I am a current Master of Counselling student at City University of Seattle. Once completed I will become an RCC (Registered Clinical Counsellor) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of British Columbia.

As an immigrant who fled war-torn Yugoslavia, I've been profoundly shaped by the impacts of trauma, influencing not only my identity but also my approach to contributing to the world. Through my lived experiences, I've come to understand that surviving trauma can broaden one's capacity for empathy and foster a deep sense of responsibility towards others.

Navigating my own mental health struggles has led me to engage in counselling and cultivate meaningful connections, resulting in the emergence of patience, compassion, and a fundamental belief in the inherent worthiness of every individual to experience wellness, dignity, and healing.

As a settler residing on stolen and ancestral lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, known as Vancouver, I'm deeply appreciative of the stewardship of these breathtaking lands and waters by the host Nations. Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in thrifting, indulging in fiction, cherishing quality time with loved ones, immersing myself in nature, exploring different cultures through travel, and delving into altered states of consciousness.
